What does LiBRARYSOFT cost?
The Basic Version of LiBRARYSOFT costs $395.
Does LiBRARYSOFT have a per user or per workstation cost ?
Use as many workstations as your library needs at no extra charge, we licence our software per library. The number of workstations is limited only by the capacity of your server. The practical limit is around 1000 workstations.
What about LiBRARYSOFTWeB, does it have a per user or per workstation cost?
Again your staff and your patrons can use as many workstations as your library requires at no extra charge, it is also licenced per library.

What upgrades does my library qualify for?
Your library owns the software our upgrade path is universal. Even if you purchased Version 1.0 twenty-two years ago you can upgrade to our latest version (9.0) for only $149.
What are the System Requirements?
The requirements are modest and minimal. From the recent versions of Windows and Windows server including Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 to the very old all the way down to Windows 98SE. Installation is only around 7 megabytes per 10,000 items. Instalation is aroung 35 megabytes.
Space requirements increase when if you add book cover images as the images take up additional space. A library with 15,000 items with cover images could be around 300 megabytes. Most new computer come with storage of 500 gigabytes to a terabyte of hard drive space. RAM requirements are minimal, if the computer can run Windows it can run LiBRARYSOFT and LiBRARYSOFTWeB. Searching can be done across a network or across the internet by Macintosh or Linux machines.
I want my patrons to be able to search the library over the internet, do I need LiBRARYSOFTWeB?
No, you can use the OPACinternet/intranet Module that comes with LiBRARYSOFT, or you can send us a copy of your data flle as often as you like and we will put the data up on the internet and provide a link which can be placed on your website. .
How do I move from LiBRARYSOFT to LiBRARYSOFTWeB Hosted?
Just send us a copy of the data file and the site will be up the following morning. Note that more than one transfer can be made in case your staff wish to first become familiar with your data on the web base version.
What if my annual host funding runs out and I need to move back to LiBRARYSOFT?
No problem, we send a copy of the data file and you are set to run immediately.
Can more than one person use LiBRARYSOFTWeB?
Multiple staff can work from any machine with internet access. Multple patrons can search the data file live.
Does LiBRARYSOFT have a per user or per workstation cost ?

Will AutoCataloguing search only a few sites?
AutoCataloguing can search any of the serveral thousand available z39.50 sites. Note however that some sites have restrictions or require fees for access. We update our listing of useful z39.50 sites frequently. As an extra option LiBRARYSOFT and LiBRARYSOFTWeB both come with access to the Gateway which provides free data access to over 900 libraries.
How much is customer support, what happens if I miss a year or years?
A year of Customer Support and Upgrades for the Interbase version of LiBRARYSOFT is $249, it is $349 for the MsSql Version. There is no penalty if your library misses a year or years of support and upgrades. Your library owns the software, no support or upgrades need be purchased, it is optional.
How many stations does a license for our library provide for?
We license the software for the library, all computers within the building containing the library are licensed to use the software.
Does LiBRARYSOFTWeB work with Macintosh and Linux?
Yes, LiBRARYSOFTWeB works on both including Windows as does OPACIntranet/Internet.
Can I print Library Cards?
Yes, and you can modify the layout as best suits your library.
Can I set up a computer for self-circulation and OPAC, how do I prevent users from damaging files?
LiBRARYSOFT comes with Locking Modules that prevent users from damaging anything even if they reboot the computer.
